Welcome to the Global Team.

After spending many years working for non-profit organizations, educational institutional and within the youth soccer field, our Founder Heather Turney began the Global Team to address the ever-expanding problem surrounding education: access and quality.

The ‘Ah Ha’ moment came in the most unlikeliest of places, from a 6-year-old Korean boy.  After spending a year in South Korea, where students were often left unengaged, exhibiting a lack of creativity due to a model of rote memorization, she took her students into the gym during math class. By using games and activities, suddenly I found the kids not only were more excited to learn, but learning quicker and being better ‘teammates’ to their fellow students. However, it wasn’t until one day during soccer practice when the idea of our organization fully formed. Off in the corner of the field, one of her students starting dribbling around cones chanting “Around Mercury, Around Venus, Earth and Mars. Next comes Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus, Last is Neptune”. From this song of inspiration grew what has now become the Global Team and this one boy’s creativity on the field has expanded to influence thousands of youth around the world.
